Review
On 9 May 2026, the symposium “Clinic X Data Science” took place at Bielefeld University. More than 100 participants from medicine, science, IT and data science came together to discuss current AI applications in medicine.
Topics included AI-supported applications in hematology and oncology, faster and more precise epilepsy diagnostics, AI in anesthesia and intensive care, AI-based analysis of lymphoma histology, AI development at Evangelisches Klinikum Bethel and ethical aspects of using AI in clinical care.
In the second part, “Clinician meets Data Scientist”, concrete questions from everyday clinical practice were discussed directly with data scientists and first ideas for collaboration were explored.
