AVOR wins the Health Special Award at the HSBI Startup Award 2026
AVOR Medical Intelligence received the Health Special Award of the HSBI Startup Award 2026 at the Health Entrepreneurship Day of Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences. The award recognizes our approach of making medical evidence in hematology and oncology accessible to healthcare professionals in a structured, transparent and source-based way.
At the Health Entrepreneurship Day, AVOR Medical Intelligence presented its approach to a source-based medical research platform. In the subsequent competition, AVOR received the Health Special Award.
Together with the other finalists, Lightweaver Microscopy and SugrSugr, the competition showcased a range of innovative approaches from health tech and life sciences.
AVOR is developing a platform that brings together medical guidelines, approval information, product information, scientific studies and other relevant evidence in a structured way. The aim is to support healthcare professionals in researching and contextualizing complex medical information while making the underlying sources transparent and traceable.
Innovation for the healthcare industry in Ostwestfalen-Lippe
The Health Entrepreneurship Day brought together start-ups, companies, academia and stakeholders from the healthcare industry in Ostwestfalen-Lippe.
Talks from different perspectives were given by Benjamin Müller, Natalie Bartholomäus, Dr. Dr. Alexander T. El Gammal and Prof. Dr. Ingo Ballschmieter, among others. Alongside the talks, the event offered space for exchange on new technologies, business models and opportunities for collaboration in healthcare.
For AVOR, the conversations with stakeholders from academia, industry and the regional innovation ecosystem were particularly valuable. These included exchanges with Klaus Bock of Hermann Bock GmbH, Prof. Dr. Tim Kampe, Uwe Borchers, Hanna Drabon and Theresa Nerlich.
A strong platform for health tech and life sciences
The Health Entrepreneurship Day also highlighted the growing importance of the health tech and life science ecosystem in Ostwestfalen-Lippe.
